Author: Theodore Category: Hair Salon Equipment

Because of the demand for hair stylist equipment coupled by the fact that the industry is expanding, salon equipment costs are also escalating. This means that someone wishing to get into the hair stylist industry may be discouraged by the steep prices. This is because in order to be a seasoned stylist, you have to be able to offer a wide range of services and almost always most of these services call for diverse equipment. For instance, a spa will need manicure and pedicure equipment, blow dryers, foot washing and foot massage equipment and others to do facials and the like. All these add to the costs.

Furniture is the first equipment you must think about as a salon operator. This also comes with accessories such as wash basins and chairs for ease and convenience. This is for people who want to sit while their hair is being treated. Others also like to recline while their feet are being pedicured and washed. Those sitting for long periods under hair dryers will need comfortable chairs. In many cases if you are hiring other stylists you will need stations for them to work in.

Then there are the extras such as towels, covers for cups and areas which protect the hair when it is being treated. Tables and recliners are also essential for those whose hair is being washed. Different facial treatments also require different sitting and reclining positions which may also call for different types of furniture.

Most salons nowadays offer manicure and pedicure services. This has now become a standard features for all salons. For you to successfully operate a manicure and pedicure station you must have the proper equipment. There needs to be seats not just for the customers but also for the people performing the manicures and pedicures.

Then most reputable salons need a reception area. A reception desk will be needed and a chair for the receptionist to seat. You may also need some drawers where accessories and other equipment that a reception needs is stored. Inside the salon, it is not uncommon to see people coming to bring their wives, girlfriends and even children. These people may not necessarily want to have their hair done and will need seats in the waiting area. These may also need to read a magazine or two while waiting and this means you must consider incorporate a magazine rack. Newer salons also have flat panels TVs in the waiting area where customers and others can be entertained in the meantime.

Most salons also need floor mats. In addition to that the salon operator needs to consider hygiene. This means if you are hiring other stylists you must consider sterilize the area where the other stylists will be working. Some salons also display the beauty products that they are using on the customers. This may necessitate a display area.

We now see that it takes different types of equipment to successfully run a hair salon. With careful research and smart shopping you should be able to get good hair stylist equipment.
