I own and use an Earthlite massage table. I have tried a few brands, some cheap and some of quality. I find the Earthlite to be a great value in terms of massage tables. The quality is top-notch, and the price is reasonable. I would say my Earthlite would be suitable to be the workhorse of any massage therapist. It has all the standard features plus one that really makes it stand head and shoulders above most other brands- the design of its face cradle. Their patented Caress design allows the face cradle to adjust along several axes to the individual contours of each person’s face (most face cradles have simple padding). You can adjust not only the angle of presentation but the face cradle itself has several “petals” that flex to accommodate different faces. On top of this goes the cushion- not any regular old cushion but a memory foam cushion! I am a big fan of this design. It makes the regular face cradles seem downright uncomfortable in comparison. Earthlite’s website also touts this face cradle as being able to reduce sinus pressure as well as eliminate pressure points.
Another reason I like this company is because of their use of farmed and renewable wood. They claim to use no rainforest woods and also recycle many of the materials used in the manufacture of their tables. They use water-based lacquer, which is supposed to be much less toxic and more environmentally friendly than the very toxic nitrocellulose lacquers. Also, the foam they use in their tables is CFC free and the covering is PU vinyl.
For the quality and features you get, the price is very reasonable. I got a student deal from a local massage school which included table and carrying case for about $475. All their tables come with a lifetime warranty.
